Lazy Day

Continuing on our theme of songs: "Today I don't feel like doing anything, I just wanna lay in my bed..." Bruno Mars

Claire woke up this morning with a bit of a snuffle. She didn't seem bad enough to stay home, but I do think she is coming down with something.

While she was at school Wyatt and I went to coffee with Lauren. He was so darn cute in his new hat:

When I picked her up I could tell she still didn't feel great. It was a rainy, thundery day and we were expecting the cable guy and someone to come and install the last blind so I decided it was a good excuse to have a super lazy day. It's been awhile since we've had one of these and incase you can't tell I always feel guilty for this. Hence all the justification even though I know you don't judge me for it. :)

I even got to wear jeans today and oh how I have missed them!

Chloe got to wear her thunder coat, which she thinks is absolutely humiliating. I do think it works a little bit:

Claire and I snuggled on the couch and when Wyatt woke up from his nap he snuggled too:

She obviously doesn't feel horrible because after a bit of rest she decided to do yoga:

Wyatt's little bum was so darn cute up in the air for his downward dog:

After that she drove the little pushcar around while yelling at Wyatt not to push her. So hopefully she doesn't get too much worse. We have tickets for Disney on Ice on Sunday and we plan to hit the state fair in the morning before hand. Fingers crossed it doesn't get too bad.

Oh, and someone else enjoyed the lazy day too:

Roller Coaster

"You give me that funny feeling in my tummy." -Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Yeah, I was going to quote more of that song but now that I actually pay attention to the lyrics, maybe not such a good idea on a family blog. :) It's been stuck in my head since yesterday. ("Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh.")

Wednesday Wyatt and I went to a "backyard party" with the Mom's group. Someone hosted everyone over to play in their backyard. It was nice because it was somewhere in the 70s and a beautiful day. I can NOT believe I have never seen this toy before!!! I looked it up on both Amazon and Walmart and it had crazy awesome reviews. Wyatt had so much fun. It didn't hold his attention for too long but he definately went on it more than a handful of times.

Here are a couple videos.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Yeah, the Okies are not the best at recycling. At leat they try but they need a little more Jack Johnson in their life. We have a TINY recycling bin. ONE as opposed to the three Seattle gave you when they first started recycling. They also do not take cardboard and we had a bunch in the garage. I loaded it up and took it to the recycling center. I was pleasantly surprised at home many cars drove up while I was there to drop stuff off. There is a bin for just about everything you can recycle. Progress!!!!

Weekend Roundup

The weekend went by pretty quick. It wasn't a fun weekend for Chris, he had to work all weekend but he managed to get in some family time each day. A couple of the guys came over to the house so they could work on a project. He set up his office outside and they worked out there for both days. Luckily it wasn't too hot:

We got some thai food for dinner Saturday night and then we all took Chloe for a walk.

Goose and Chris:

I stayed back with Wyatt. I just thought he was so darn stinking cute with this little march and his arms just swinging trying to keep up. You can also hear how he says "cheeeeeeseee". He may not be good at looking at the camera but he says his 'cheese' with enthusiasm every time!

I love these wild sunflowers that grow here:

We also had swim lessons for both kids on Saturday morning. But I was in the pool (at the Y) with Wyatt so I couldn't take any pictures. Yesterday was the last day of the neighborhood pool. It closed which is a bit of a bummer. It's still in the high 90s and 80s all this month so I wish it would stay open. My understanding is the costs of heating and insurance is the reason why it doesn't stay open longer. After no nap and playing hard in the pool now that he is all over the place in his swim tube Dozer passed OUT on the couch while Chris and I were making dinner:

And finally when we went to the grocery store yesterday Claire begged and begged for ice cream cones. I really didn't want to get them because they just seemed messy and extra work, but we got some bad news this weekend. One friend may have cancer and another friend's mom had a serious stroke so after crying in the middle of Target talking to a friend I decided life was short and we'll get those darn ice creams cones. And enjoy them they did (and will)!!!!

Hope you all had a good weekend.

Lake Hefner

Last friday one of the Mom's groups we joined was going to meet at a park at Lake Hefner. Unfortunately the parks website for OKC is not that great and most of the parks are missing addresses. Me and another mom went to the wrong park and finally made it to the correct park about an hour later. It was an adventure but we made some new friends in the process. Lemonade out of lemons right???

Dad, Lake Hefner is one of the areas that I believe Grant told you about. I didn't get any pictures of them at the park but after everyone left we went and looked at the lake a bit. It's very pretty.

I know I still didn't bring the better camera. The batteries were dead and I need to charge them. However if you look very closely a the rocks you can see the lower ones are a bit darker. There was a water line there. I have no idea where the water is in the middle of winter, but it looks really low right now.

Has anyone heard the new Carrie Underwood song? "There's not enough wind in Oklahoma..." Yeah right! Here is one the trees that Grant was telling you about dad. It's growing that way because of the wind. And for the record Carrie is singing about wind blowing nails out from the past. :)

Dozer chilling:

And of course Goose on the move like always:

Pond

One of the reasons why we really liked this neighborhood is the ponds. Only one is finished and the second one is right down the street from us, where they are building more houses. Unfortunately we haven't utilized it much because it's been so hot.

I have walked by a couple times when I have gone for walks by myself, but the kids and Chris have never gone down there.

These pictures are actually from about two weeks ago. I keep forgetting to post them and everytime I drive by the pond I remember, but forget by the time I get home.

There are walking/jogging trails that go around much of the perimeter of the neighborhood. And this pond has a path that goes to a little garden where they have a picnic table and a little bbq. It's also dedicated to someone who passed away but I have no idea who that is. It's a really pretty and peaceful little area. Plus Goose gets to see her Goose friends. :)

This is looking down the little pathway where the garden and picnic area is:

And here is some gooseplaying (you can see the little sign of dedication sticking out just to the left of Wyatt's handle bars) The bbq is to the right, just a small one you would find at a park:

While the Goose Was Away...

Wyatt and I went to "baby" story time. It's really story time that is meant just for two year olds and it's a lot of fun. It's every Wednesday and my plan is to go as often as possible while Goose is in school.

They get to play with toys the first twenty minutes and then have a couple songs and stories. He was a bit tired but had a lot of fun. He really liked trying on all the hats. I have a million pics of them but here are a couple:

At the end of story time there were lots of bubbles. He was super excited.

Afterwards we had a few minutes before it was time to pick up Claire. There is a little park at the library that is dedicated to Shannon Miller. She is an Olympic Gold Medalist that is from Edmond. Here is he leading the way. He normally doesn't get much opportunity to be the leader while Sissy is home.

And here is a huge statue of Shannon in the park. The sun was really bright so the pic is not that great. The town of Edmond has a lot of art. In the little downtown area they have a bunch of little statues.

I think he had fun with some mom time, but yes he missed her. I should have counted but he asked me a bunch of time where Sissy was. Today in the bath he said "Me School?" I said maybe next year Bud.

Claire First Day of Pre-K

Claire had her first day of Pre-K today. She was super excited, thank goodness. This was one of my biggest stressors about the move. I really wanted to find something that would make her comfortable and excited. She had been at her old school for so long and knew everyone there and had so many friends. Day 1 was a success.

Before she left for school though, she crossed her arms and told me very sternly that Wyatt was NOT allowed in her room, he was NOT to play with her toys and he was to NOT mess up her room while she was gone. I didn't dare tell her I was planning on taking him to the library for story time. I didn't want to risk upsetting her.

She was upset at first when I picked her up and she saw Wyatt's name tag, but I made sure she knew we went to the BABY story time and it wouldn't be much fun for her.

Here is a little video of her before school:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pmpw716k4wo&feature=g-upl

I didn't dare ask her about the sandbox incase they didn't play with it. It's not really a sandbox, its just a sensory bin that occasionally may have sand in it. But she is really stuck on that. She did tell me that she didn't see it anywhere but as someone pointed out it will give her something to look forward too.

And here are a few pics. She didn't really want her brother in them but I made her take a couple. :)

She's jumping up and down here saying Pre-K! Pre-K!

They give them these bags to decorate on their first day. She will bring it home in the next couple days and this is her school bag. They said its easier for them to get stuff in and out than a backpack.

This is her spot on circle time. This is one thing that Chris and I like about the school. We are hoping they won't baby her as much since she has a spot to sit in and not end up on the teacher's lap.

She asked for a hug and that was it. She turned around and just started playing. PHEW!

Big Boy Bed

Since before we left Washington, Wyatt has been wanting to nap on his little couch. I had a picture of it but I can't find it. The other night he wanted to go to bed on his little couch and I was too tired to battle so I let him to test the waters. Sure enough he slept there all night, even if he did wake up early. He kept wanting to sleep there so a couple nights ago we took the front railing off the crib. He still wants to sleep on his couch but the last couple nights we are trying to get into the habit of bedtime on the bed, but I still let him sleep on the couch.

Here are Dozer and Goose helping daddy take the front off:

And here he is in bed:

The verdict is still out whether this was a good idea or not. Unfortunately the night we started this he was really over tired and fell out of bed at one point. He seems to be doing somewhat better. We shall see.... :)

Wyatt Swim

We bought this swim tube earlier this month after seeing someone else with it down at the pool. This was probably Wyatt's fourth time in it and he finally figured it out. I obviously still need to be really close to him. He can still get stuck with his face in the water, but my goodness does it feel great being in the pool without someone clinging to me!!!!

Toons

Enjoying a really, really lazy morning. I felt a little nostaligic to the feeling of the end of summer vacation. When Claire starts school this week I am going to try to avoid cartoons in the morning on school days.
